The pellets have a pH of approximately 5.3 and compressed peat encased in a thin plastic net increase in size 7 times to a height of 2 1/8" by 1¾" in width, minutes after water has been added. Ideal for starting most flowers, lettuce, cabbage, etc. Seeds are nurtured within the pellet to germinate faster into young seedlings. Roots emerge easily through the porous walls of the pellet as a result of the enhanced air circulation created by the unique design and characteristics of the Jiffy 7 Peat Pellet.
